Kyrgyzstan produced 230,600t of cement in 1Q20

Kyrgyzstan produced 230,600 of cement in the first quarter of 2020, according to the country’s National Statistics Committee. In January output reached 28,500t, followed by 58,600t in February and 143,500t in March. When compared with the 1Q20, when 352,400t was produced, output declined by 34.6 per cent YoY.

Bolu Cimento reduces net loss in 1Q20

Turkey’s Bolu Cimento Sanayii has considerably reduced its non-consolidated net loss to TRY11.04m (US$1.58m) in the first quarter of 2020, compared with a TRY21.19m loss in the 1Q20. Total revenue increased 43 per cent YoY to TRY104.1m in the January-March period, while the cost of sales surged 44.9 per cent to TRY99.14m from TRY68.4m.

Gazakh Cement Plant LLC in Azerbaijan reported a stable output in the first four months of 2020. The company produced over 209,000t of cement and 273,000t of clinker. This represents an increase of 20 and 10 per cent, respectively when compared with 2018.

Ukraine cement output up 6% in 1Q20

Ukrainian cement plants have increased their output by 6.3 per cent  YoY in the first quarter of 2020, according to Esmerk CIS News. In January-March 2020 a total of 1.625Mt of cement were produced in the country. If the current growth trend continues, production volumes are expected to exceed 10Mt by the end of the year.

LafargeHolcim increased its cement sales in Romania by 15.3 per cent in the first nine months of the year, especially due to the strong advance of the construction market in Bucharest.
