Limak Cement Group ’s Anka plant broke new ground in the Turkish cement industry and became the first cement factory with a verified carbon footprint report.   The cement factory in Anka , Turkey, has been awarded a certificate as the first cement factory whose 14064-1:2018 carbon footprint report has been verified by Emicert and QSI, which are accredited in the cement industry.

Lafarge Exshaw plant receives carbon capture funding

Lafarge Canada ’s Exshaw Cement plant is one of 11 recipients to receive funding from Emissions Reduction Alberta’s (ERA) CAD40m (US$31m) investment to kickstart CAD$20bn in carbon capture projects in Alberta. Holcim secures EU investment in CCUS projects

Holcim has secured investment from the European Union Innovation Fund in its carbon capture, utlisation and storage (CCUS) projects in Germany and Poland. Holcim (Argentina) SA will set up a household waste processing plant in Las Heras, Mendoza province, Argentina, to process waste into an alternative fuel for Holcim’s cement plants. UK scientists look to develop zero-emissions cement

The European Innovation Fund (EU Environment and Climate) has agreed funding for several cement and lime sector projects, with Holcim and Lhoist among the companies that will receive funding.
