Pakistan exports fall 16% in 1HFY18

The volume of cement exports from Pakistan fell by 16.04 per cent YoY in the first half of the current financial year (July-Dec 2017). Data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics shows that Pakistan exported 2.35Mt of cement in the period, compared to 2.80Mt of the 1HFY17. Pakistan’s cement exports to India grew by 26.3 per cent in FY17. December 2017 was a positive month for Peru's cement production and dispatches, although volumes remained insufficient to reverse the accumulated fall in 2017, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Cement exports from Pakistan in December 2017 fell 11.3 per cent to 328,000t from 369,000t in the year-ago period, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers’ Association (APCMA). Dalmia Bharat begins using national waterways for exports

Dalmia Bharat Cement exported its first cement shipment of 200Mt from Pandu port to Dhubri on Friday, reports The Telegraph. The occasion marked Dalmia’s fifth brand anniversary in the northeast region of India, with the shipment being released by Mahendra Singhi, Group CEO, Dalmia Cement. The company is using national waterways, such as the Brahmaputra, to transport cement in the hope that it will reduce the cost of logistics.

Hoang Phat Vissai Group (The Vissai) has exported 220,000t of cement and clinker from Nghi Thiet port in Vietnam’s Nghe An province since the start of January. The exported cement is destined for the Philippines, Canada and China, according to Nguyen Quoc Tai, director of Nghi Thiet port and the grinding unit of Song Lam Cement JSC, a The Vissai affiliate. The first shipment of 3964t of cement was unloaded at the Argentine port of Barranqueras, Chaco region. The Bolivian cement was purchased by Cemento Avellaneda and will be distributed throughout the north of Argentina. Pakistan sees an increase in total cement dispatches for 2H17

The Pakistan cement sector experienced sales growth in July-December 2017 with total dispatches reaching 22.24Mt from 19.8Mt in the year-ago period, reports Business Recorder.
