Cement dispatches in Peru reached 1.088Mt in February 2022, up five per cent when compared with February 2021, according to the Peruvian cement association, Asocem. Cement consumption in Spain increased 14 per cent YoY to 1,269,455t, representing the best sales in February in the last five years, according to Oficemen, the Spanish cement association. “The cement industry is experiencing an energy emergency situation. Pakistan's cement and clinker exports have observed a mixed trend in the first eight months of FY21-22. Iran's cement market expands 5% MoM in February

Iranian cement consumption reached 4.43Mt in February 2022, supplied entirely by the domestic industry, according to the Iranian Cement Association. This represents a 5.2 per cent increase when compared with January 2022. While cement production stood at 4.43Mt (+5.2 per cent MoM), clinker output reached 4.83Mt (-7.6 per cent MoM). The country exported 1.084Mt of clinker and 0.326Mt of cement in February 2022, representing MoM increases of 33.8 and 35.8 per cent, respectively.

Indonesian cement and clinker exports rise to record levels in 2021

Indonesia is rapidly expanding its cement and clinker export activities, with YoY volumes climbing by 25.2 per cent to reach a record 11.610Mt in 2021. By year end, cement exports grew by 46.6 per cent to 1.609Mt, while clinker volumes expanded by 22.3 per cent to 10.001Mt. Bangladesh and the Philippines were major clinker destinations, while cement destinations included Mauritius and the Maldives.

February sales in Brazil increase 1%

Cement sales in Brazil edged up 1.2 per cent YoY to 4.726Mt in February 2022 from 4.672Mt in February 2021, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Cement consumption in Argentina increased 15.6 per cent YoY to 938,327t in February 2022 when compared with 811,697t in the second month of the previous year, according to AFCP, the national cement association. The aggregate sales of 17 Saudi Arabian cement producers fell 14 per cent to 4.3Mt in February, from 5Mt in the same month last year, according to recent data issued by Yamama Cement Co .
