Paraguayan companies import increasing cement volumes

Several companies in Paraguay have increased the volume of cement imports from 1000tpm to 6000tpd due to the cement supply shortage in the Latin American country, according to ABC Color. Indian petcoke imports rise in October

India imported 809,000t of petcoke in October 2019, up more than 364 per cent from the year-ago period, according to Iman Resources. The imports were primarily sent from the US and Saudi Arabia, at 372,000t and 295,000t, respectively. Oman sent 38,000t, while 32,000t came from China. The Peruvian cement market expanded 2.1 per cent YoY in November 2019 with total sales of 1.048Mt (November 2019: 1.026Mt), according to Peru’s cement association, Asocem. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the USA and Puerto Rico advanced 13 per cent in September 2019 to 9.4Mt, when compared with September 2018, according to the latest data from the US Geological Survey (USGS).
