Tajik Cement plans new 1.2Mta plant

Tajikistan’s Tajik Cement has signed an investment agreement for the construction and commissioning of a new 1.2Mta plant. The state-run producer is reportedly seeking US$100m in foreign direct investments for the project. The country produced 1.2Mt of cement in the Jan-Apr period of this year, rising 75,000t from the year-ago period.

India’s UltraTech Cement has received environmental approval to set up a INR25bn (US$360.37m) project in Petnikota village, Andhra Pradesh. Calcar Products to begin work on new grinding unit

India's Calcar Products is expecting to begin Phase I of its new cement grinding unit project this month. The facility will be set up in two phases at Bhupdeopur village of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh, with each phase representing 0.33Mta of cement capacity. Th estimated investment cost for Phase I is INR420m (US$6.06m) and INR330m for Phase II. The project is due for completion in the first half of 2020.

Tajikistan’s Mohir Cement Co has announced plans to construct a new 0.6Mta cement plant in Jaloliddin Balkhi district, Khatlon. India’s Shree Cement has announced a 19.6 per cent YoY fall in net profit to INR3.21bn (US$46.18m) for the 4QFY18-19. However, revenue increased 14.2 per cent to INR33.29bn from INR29.15bn. Qarshi Conch Cement’s (Anhui Conch Cement Co Ltd) new 1.2Mta cement plant in Karshi, Uzbekistan, is expected to become operational in December 2020, according to the country’s Cabinet of Ministers. The establishment of Ebonyi Cement factory (EBOCEM) at Okpoto, Ishielu, Nigeria, has been approved by Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi.
