Colombia's cement market in February 2017 contracted 3.6 per cent to 1.008Mt when compared with February 2016, according to DANE, the country's statistics office. Cement sales in Saudi Arabia remain weak and see a further downward revision in sector earnings for 2017.

Unacem sales fell 4.3 per cent in 2016 to PEN1865m in 2016. In Ecuador, its subsidiary Unacem Ecuador sold 1.2Mt of cement at a value of US$153.2m. Peru's cement market contracted 6.9 per cent YoY with sales of 0.737Mt in February, according to Asocem, the country's cement producers' association. Output from Unacem, Cementos Pacasmayo and Cementos Yura reached 0.766Mt, 6.9 per cent below the 0.822Mt produced in February 2016. Saudi cement producers saw sales fall by 24.9 per cent in February 2017. Cement companies sold 4.09Mt of cement in the second month of the year, down from 5.44Mt in February 2016. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the USA and Puerto Rico in December were 6.04Mt, representing a 8.6 per cent YoY fall, according to the US Geological Survey. Puerto Rican cement sales in February slipped 2.3 per cent in February following a 0.2 per cent rise the previous month. Argentina's cement producers dispatched 801,782t of cement in February, a 0.8 per cent drop MoM and 8.7 per cent YoY, according to the Argentine cement producers' association, AFCP. Domestic sales decreased 0.8 per cent YoY to 801,782t in February 2017 from 808,310t in February 2016. Exports increased 9.3 per cent YoY to 6652t from 6084t. Cameroon’s cement producers – Cimencam, Dangote, Cimaf and Necsen – have produced a combined output of 2.6Mt of cement in 2016, according to Camerpost. Sales of cement in the Dominican Republic rose by 7.5 per cent by volume and 5.2 per cent by value in 2016 when compared with 2015 according to the country’s cement association, Adocem.  Domestic sales reached 4,247,468t in 2016 while in 2015 3,950,956t were delivered.
