Vietnam sees cement and clinker exports rise 16%

Vietnam exported 2.7Mt of cement and clinker worth US$98m in February, up 16.8 per cent and 4.8 per cent YoY, respectively, according to the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the first two months of this year, the country exported 5.84Mt of cement and clinker (up 15.9 per cent) representing a value of US$214m (up 6.6 per cent).

Mexico's cement exports up 11% in 11M20

Mexico's exports of cement advanced 11 per cent YoY in the 11M20, according to Market Data México. Exports rose from US$168m in the 11M19 to US$186m in the 11M20. The main destination for Mexican cement exports was the USA, which reported sales of US$141m, followed by Guatemala, which bought cement to a value of US$10m. Cement consumption in Spain decreased by 19.2 per cent YoY to 842,861t in January 2021, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. Cement sales in Uruguay increased 34.6 per cent YoY to 251,000t in the fourth quarter of 2020, according to the country’s chamber of industry, CIU. Of this total, 89 per cent or 223,290t were delivered to the domestic market, which expanded by 44.1 per cent YoY to around 257,000t in the 4Q20 from 179,000t in the 4Q19. Cement dispatches in Peru increased 18 per cent YoY to 1.059Mt in January 2021 from 0.895Mt in January 2020, reports Peruvian cement association, Asocem. Its members increased their deliveries by 20 per cent YoY from 0.828Mt to 0.995Mt in the same period. Brazilian cement demand increased by 10.1 per cent YoY and 7.3 per cent MoM to 5.03Mta in January 2021, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Argentina's cement market expands 20% in January

Cement demand in Argentina increased 20.1 per cent to 895,559t in January 2021 when compared with January 2020, when demand reached 745,681t, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. The requirement of the market was entirely met by domestic production, which saw a 19.2 per cent rise YoY to 903,756t in the first month of the year. In January 2020 output stood at 758,095t. However, exports declined 34.1 per cent from 12,414t in January 2020 to 8197t one year later.

Pakistan's cement factories recorded a growth of 16.3 per cent in cement dispatches during January 2021 when total cement dispatches reached at 4.73Mt against 4.07Mt in the same month of last fiscal year, says data released by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
