Pakistan’s cement industry earned a revenue of US$105.54m from exporting 3.23Mt of cement and clinker in the 4MFY20-21, compared with US$94.4m from 2.437Mt of exports in the year-ago period, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS). Beni Saf starts clinker exports to Mauritania

GICA-owned Beni Saf Cement in Algeria started exports of clinker with a 13,000t shipment from the port of Ghazaouet to Mauritania on 18 November 2020. The company’s exports are in line with the government’s policy of promoting the country’s non-hydrocarbon exports. GICA has exported to Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mauritania and Senegal.

Iran's cement production in the first six months of the year (starting in March 2020) rose 14.4 per cent YoY to 35.63Mt, compared with 31.15Mt in the year-ago period, according to data provided by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade. Indonesia's cement demand fell 9.7 percent to 17,499,807t in the 3Q20 from 19,384,326t in the 3Q19, according to the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI). The decline in domestic cement consumption was mitigated by a 62.4 per cent surge in exports, which increased to 3,128,985t in the 3Q20 from 19,384,326t in the year-ago period. Peruvian cement producers dispatched 1.255Mt of cement in October 2020, up 16.4 per cent YoY, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. In October 2019 dispatches reached 1.078Mt. Dangote Cement plc reported a revenue of NGN761.4bn (US$1.987bn) in the nine months ended 30 September 2020,  representing a 12 per cent YoY rise when compared with 9M19, according to a statement by Michel Puchercos, group CEO. Argentina’s cement consumption picked up by 12.7 per cent YoY in October 2020 as it increased to 1,070,118t (October 2019: 948,931t), according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. The USA represented an 18 per cent share of Turkish cement exports during the first nine months of the year, the largest share amongst the export destinations, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). Algeria exports to Dominican Republic

Algeria-based Société des Ciments de Aïn El Kebira (SCAEK), part of the GICA Group, has exported 40,000t of clinker to the Dominican Republic, reports L’Expression. GICA has exported some 550,000t of clinker since the start of the year to African and South American countries, including Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Peru and Brazil, according to GICA.
