Fives FCB completes kiln and tyre replacement at Val d'Azergues plant

Fives FCB has successfully completed the kiln shell replacement at LafargeHolcim's Val d'Azergues plant, France. LafargeHolcim previouly signed an agreement with Fives FCB in 2018 for the replacement of 9m section of its kiln shell at the Val d’Azergues plant, including the replacement of one tyre, roller and seal.
 Site installation and preliminary works started in the beginning of January 2019.

Vicat to supply cement for Alpinium

Vicat will deliver 914t of its Structurat cement, produced at its Montalieu plant, France, and 649t of Performat cement, manufactured at its St Egrève and Montalieu works, for the building of he Alpinium complex. Thamesport Cement has submitted a full planning application of its proposed site on the Isle of Grain, Kent, UK. French cement market expands despite housing start drop

Cement demand in France rose by an estimated 2.5 per cent to 18.6Mt in 2018, according to SFIC, the country’s cement association. In 2017 the market expanded by 4.5 per cent. LafargeHolcim announced the conclusion of a supply contract for the Grand Paris Express project worth EUR110m, where LafargeHolcim will supply 260,000t of cement. François Petry new director of LafargeHolcim Belgium & France

François Petry was appointed by LafargeHolcim as the new director for France and Belgium, succeeding Bénédicte de Bonnechose. Mr Petry joined Holcim France in 2008, when he was appointed general manager of the company’s aggregates business. In 2013 he left to head Holcim Group’s subsidiary in Romania and this was followed by a position in the UK where he served as general manager of Aggregates Industries UK.

Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies (HGCT) inaugurates its new cement plant – dubbed the first green cement plant in France – in Bournezeau, Vendée.
