Dyckerhoff, owned by Italian company Buzzi-Unicem, has announced the acquisition of independent German cement producer Portland Zement Seibel und Söhne GmbH & Co, more commonly known as “der böse Seibel” (Seibel the bad), reports CM-CIC Market Solutions.

HeidelbergCement's preliminary results for the 2017 financial year highlighted a significant rise for cement and clinker sales volumes, due to consolidation, increasing by 22 per cent to 126Mt, compared to 103Mt in 2016. Cementir Holding's turnover in 2017 increased by 25.3 per cent to EUR1287.5m and EBITDA was ahead by 11.5 per cent to 220.5m.
