Empire Cement Packaging Ltd has acquired 18.74 acres of land in Weija, Ghana, to establish the company under the One District One Factory initiative. Elementia commissions Yucatan plant

Mexico's Cementos Fortaleza ( Elementia) inaugurated its new grinding plant in Yucatan last Friday, together with the governor of Yucatan, Mauricio Vila  Dosal , the mayor of Progreso, Julián  Zacarías   Curi , and the Secretariat of Economic Development and Work, Ernesto Herrera Novel. The grinding station will have a cement production capacity of 250,000tpa and during the first stage of construction generated about 300 direct and 450 indirect jobs.

Ethiopia’s National Cement (East African Holdings) is currently conducting a study at its plant in Dire Dawa to boost its 3000tpd capacity by 30 per cent. A new cement plant under construction in Musanze, Rwanda, is set to begin marketing its product next month. Pakistan’s Power Cement Ltd has announced that its 7700tpd clinker production plant has reached its rated capacity and will therefore begin commercial production from 1 July 2020.   The company noted production levels of 450,096t and 502,541t of cement and clinker, respectively, during the 9MFY19-20.
