East Africa Portland Cement Co   (EAPCC) is planning a KES30.53bn (US$200m) clinker line in Kajiado county, Kenya. The plant, which will have a clinker capacity of approximately 5000tpa, will be located on a 300-acre greenfield site. Ecocem France and Carrières du Boulonnais (CB Green group) have created a joint venture to build a filler grinding unit.   The new plant will produce 600,000tpa of limestone filler that will partly replace clinker in the composition of cement to decarbonise its product line. Sama Samawa Industries Commissioner revealed an agreement with Sinoma to establish a cement factory in Muthanna Governorate, southern Iraq. National Cement (Devki Group) has announced that it will export up to 80 per cent of the clinker it produces when its new West Pokot plant in Kenya starts production. Full-year sales of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province Cement advanced 3.4 per cent to SAR784m (US$209.1m) in 2022 to SAR758m in the year-ago period.
