Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, sold 20.06Mt of cement and clinker in the first 11 months of 2015, up 2.9 per cent from a year earlier. Indonesian cement sales rose by 4.7 per cent YoY to 6.1Mt in November 2015, due to improved government spending on infrastructure projects. Vietnam's sales of cement and clinker are predicted to rise 4-7 per cent YoY in 2016 to between 75-77Mt, according to forecasts by the country's Ministry of Construction (MoC). Vietnam output reaches 54.8Mt in first 10 months

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 54.8Mt of cement in the first 10 months of this year, up 10.4 per cent from a year ago, the government-run General Statistics Office said. The figures include an output of 6.1Mt in October, an increase 10.8 per cent. In the first nine months, the country’s cement production hit 48.7Mt, according to the revised figure. State-owned Indonesian cement producers PT Semen Indonesia and PT Semen Kupang are planning to build a new cement factory in Kupang, in the eastern province of East Nusa Tenggara . The plant involves an investment of IDR2.5trn (US$185.19m) and will have a capacity of 1.5Mta, according to local press reports. Vietnam cement and clinker sales reached 6.5Mt in July, up 25 per cent YoY, the country's Association for Building Materials under the Ministry of Construction (MoC) announced. Holcim Philippines Inc said Monday second-quarter net profit was down 7.5 per cent YoY, hurt by rising expenses. Holcim said the April-June quarter net profit declined to PHP1.5bn (US$33.5m) from PHP1.65bn in the year-earlier period. Second-quarter revenue rose 6.8 per cent YoY to PHP9.42bn, around half the pace of the 12 per cent YoY increase in expenses to PHP7.29bn.
