In the first nine months of 2018, cement production in Turkey decreased by 1.6 per cent compared to the previous year, reports The Turkish Cement Association (TÇMB). Tasman Sea to complete clinker offloading at Suva

Bulk carrier Tasman Sea is expected to complete the offloading of 11,880t of clinker at Suva Port, Fiji, today, according to the Fiji Sun. The clinker has been exported from Japan, which became a clinker importer into Fiji a year ago. The ship finished discharging 15,000t of clinker for the Tengy Cement Factory in Lautoka last week. The plant receives a clinker shipment every quarter.

Kazakhstan becomes net exporter of cement

Kazakhstan became a net exporter of cement in 2018. During 9M18, domestic cement producers exported more than 1.4Mt of cement with a total value of US$71.5m, almost doubling the export volume of 2017. The State Bank of Pakistan on Tuesday released its first quarterly report on the State of Pakistan’s economy for FY19. Total cement demand in Vietnam fell to 5.828Mt in December 2018, down by one per cent YoY, but up three per cent when compared with November 2018, according to the latest data by the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Pakistan's cement industry received foreign exchange revenue of US$25.89m by exporting 624,714t of cement during the month of December 2018, compared to US$26.77m at 635,192t in the previous month. Bangladesh's cement industry recorded a fall of 6.7 per cent in export revenue to US$5.75m during the first six months of FY18-19 (July-December 2018) compared to US$6.16m, earned in the same months last year, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau.
