Wonder Cement plans to set up three units in the Indian states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana to increase its total cement capacity to 11Mta over the next three years. Cemengal completes contract for Cemindo Gemilang

Cemengal of Spain has completed an engineering and supply contract for Indonesian cement producer Cemindo Gemilang. The contract, signed on 22 July 2016, was for three cement grinding units. In a reference letter dated 26 April 2017 and posted on Cemengal’s website, Anang Adji Sunoto, project and operation director of Cemindo Gemilang, wrote: "This engineering and supply contract was performed within due time, quality, budge and safety requirements."

Hanson Cement to hold public exhibitions for upgrade plan

Hanson Cement is holding two public exhibitions in May to explain plans for the GPB20m upgrade project at its Padeswood cement works in Flintshire, UK, which the company says "will guarantee the long-term future of the plant and its 96 employees". Fives has installed the first FCB B cement grinding mill in April 2017 at Entreprise des Ciments et Dérivés d’El Chellif’s (ECDE) 6000tpd clinker line at Chlef, Algeria. Omani private equity firm Al Anwar Holdings has entered into a shareholders' agreement with Hormozgan Cement Co of Iran to establish Hormuz Al Anwar Cement SAOC for the construction of a greenfield grinding plant in the port town of Duqm, Oman. UltraTech Cement, an Aditya Birla group company, yesterday reported consolidated sales for FY17 of INR250.92bn (US$3.89bn) against INR248.8bn in the previous year. Profit before interest, depreciation and tax of INR58.61bn was nine per cent higher and profit after tax up 10 per cent YoY to INR27.15bn.
