New cement facility inaugurated in Iran

Monde Dashti Cement’s new 1.2Mta cement production unit has been inaugurated by Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, through a video conference, according to the Tehran Times.  The plant based in Bushehr province represents an investment of around IRR3.8trn (US$90.48m) and has created over 170 job opportunities.

Huaxin Cement Narayani, a Nepali-Chinese joint venture, is set to begin construction on its facility in Dhading district, Nepal, within the next few days. Construction work has started on Jah Multi Industrial Company Ltd's cement plant in Bafuloto, in the West Coast region of Gambia. Sheriff Faye, operational manager of Jah Multi Industrial Co (JMIC), said the plant will not be commissioned until 2020, but the company would be supplying the local market with cement before then. Fujairah Natural Resources Corp begins construction of new plant

The UAE’s Fujairah Natural Resources Corp has launched an AED550m (US$149.74m) three-stage project in Habbab, Fujairah. The new facility will produce clinker, with production commencing following the completion of stage one in December 2019. Ali Qasim, company director, has stated that the project will boost the cement industry in Fujairah, adding value to the UAE’s national industry.

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) confirmed that it has supplied Sinoma and Hengya Cement (T) Ltd with the requisite incentives to begin construction of the company's US$1bn greenfield cement plant in Tanga region.
