Iranian cement market contracts 12% in October

Iran’s cement demand declined 11.7 per cent MoM to 5.05Mt in October 2021. In addition, producers exported 0.65Mt of clinker and 0.29Mt of cement, according to the Iranian cement association. In term of output, 7.02Mt of clinker and 5.46Mt of cement were produced in October 2021. When compared with September 2021, clinker production increased 2.8 per cent while cement output was down 9.2 per cent.

The Iranian cement market expanded 34 per cent to 5.72Mt in September 2021 when compared with August 2021, when demand reached 4.27Mt, according to the Iranian cement association. Iranian cement demand expands 7% MoM in August

Iran’s cement consumption reached 4.27Mt in August 2021, according to the Iranian cement association. This represents a 6.8 per cent uptick when compared with July 2021. Cement and clinker production stood at 4.79Mt and 5.08Mt, respectively. In addition to supplying the domestic market, Iranian cement producer exported 0.32Mt of cement and 0.44Mt of clinker.

Iran’s cement market contracted by 30.8 per cent MoM to 4Mt in July 2021 from 5.78Mt in June 2021. Clinker production declined from 6.75Mt in June 2021 to 3.95Mt in July 2021 while cement output decreased to 4.38Mt in July from 6.02Mt in June. In addition to a shrinking domestic market, exports of cement and clinker in July fell to 0.41Mt and 0.3Mt, respectively when compared with the previous month, when cement and clinker exports stood at 0.36Mt and 0.63Mt, respectively.

Cement sold through Iran's mercantile exchange rises

The operations manager of the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), Abbas Yaghoubi, has provided an update regarding the offering of all the country's cement via the IME, according to Trend News. Iran cement production capacity tops 88Mta in FY20-21

Iran’s nominal cement production capacity totalled 88Mta in FY20-21, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade (MIMT).  Meanwhile, total cement production over the last year was 69.3Mt, of which 15Mt was exported to Iraq, Afghanistan and some Southeast Asian countries and 64Mt was used locally, stated MIMT.  More than 70 cement factories were operational in Iran, which produced 27 types of cement, of which Type II and V are the most popular.
