Iran sees 32% rise in exports

Over 17.5Mt of cement and clinker were exported from Iran in the past Iranian calendar year, ending 21 March 2020. Iran produces 41.5Mt in first eight months of FY19-20

Iran produced 41.5Mt of cement during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (21 March-21 November 2019) up 10 per cent compared with last year's corresponding period, according to data from the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade. According to Industries Minister, Reza Rahmani, Iran's cement production capacity stands at 86Mta. The Industries Ministry aims to increase this capacity to 120Mta by the fiscal 2021-22.

Shahrood Cement exports more than 245,000t since March 2019

Shahrood Cement Co, based in Iran’s Semnan province, has exported more than 245,000t of cement since the start of the current Iranian year (from 21 March 2019), said Behrouz Asvadi, chairman of the province’s Industry, Mine and Trade Organisation. Mr Asvadi noted the company earned US$5.06m from its export activities, adding that the company directly exports its products. The company’s plant has a cement capacity of more than 1.8Mta.

A consignment of 2500t of cement was exported by Qesh cement plant, Hormozgan, Iran, to Somalia, according to Hormuz Amiri, head of development and trade at Qeshm Free Trade Zone.
