Tajikistan produces 3.95Mt of cement in 11M20

Cement plants in Tajikistan have produced 3.951Mt of cement in the January-November 2020 period. This represents an increase of 0.9 per cent YoY, according to Tajikistan Newsline. The Tajik cement production base currently has a cement production capacity of approximately 4.7Mta.

Tajikistan exported 990,000t of cement in the January-September period of 2020, according to the country’s Ministry of Industry and New Technologies. Tajikistan has produced more than 2.8Mt in the first eight months of 2020, representing a rise of 3.5 per cent YoY over the 8M19. There are 13 companies currently producing cement in the country, with an estimated annual capacity of 4.7Mta.

Tajikistan exports 0.5Mt of cement in Jan-May

In the 5M20 Tajikistan produced over 1.5Mt of cement and exported 0.5Mt of this output, according to Avesta. The largest share of exports, 238,300t, was supplied to Uzbekistan, with an additional 227,200t to Afghanistan and 34,100t to Kyrgyzstan. Total cement exports were valued at US$20.5m.

Tajikistan increases output in 2019 by 400,000t

Tajikistan produced 4.2Mt of cement in 2019, an increase of 400,000t compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT). The country’s cement exports also rose by around 150,000t to 1.546Mt. Tajikistan reportedly earned US$68.1m from its cement export activities in 2019. In January-September 2019, Tajikistan produced construction materials worth TJS2bn (US$207m), an increase of TJS257.5m compared to the 9M18, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan. During the first nine months of the year, the country produced 3.1Mt of cement. Cement exports during the period reached 1.2Mt, representing a value of US$51.4m. Tajikistan has announced that around 2.328Mt of cement was produced in the country over the first seven months of 2019. According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, this is around 209,000t higher than in January-July 2018. In 2018, the Tajik cement industry produced over 3.844Mt of cement, a 23.3 per cent YoY increase.

Cement producers in Tajikistan have manufactured 1.575Mt of cement in the first five months of 2019, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technology. In January-May 2018 output reached 1.473Mt while for the full year, over 3.844Mt was produced. Of this total, 0.619Mt was exported, 53,000t more than in the year-ago period.
