Tunisia-based Carthage Cement closed 2023 with a turnover of TND431m (US$138.7m), up 18 per cent when compared with the company’s turnover in 2022, driven by its cement and aggregate business. Moroccan cement association welcomes Novacim membership

The Assembly General of L’Association Profesionelle des Cimentiers (APC) has ratified the decision of its Board of Directors to welcome Novacim , the new Moroccan producer of clinker and cement. Novacim has a 1.6Mta cement plant located in Oulad Ghanem , El Jadida, requiring an investment of MAD2.6m (US$0.259m). With this new unit, the cement supply of APC members reaches a production capacity of 24.6Mta.

Holcim Algeria exports see 7% uplift in 2023

Lafarge Algeria ( Holcim ) exported 3.4Mt of cement and clinker in 2023, up seven per cent from 3.2Mt in 2022. Cement deliveries by members of Morocco’s cement association APC (Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc) have increased by 19.1 per cent YoY to 1,122,290t in December 2023 from 942,317t in December 2022, according to he Ministry of National Territory Planning, Land Planning, Housing and Urban Policy. Arabian Cement announces management changes

Arabian Cement Company has announced three management changes. Mutaz Kusai Hassan AlAzzawi has been appointed chairman of the board of directors (non-executive), Saud Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Sulaiman has become vice chairman (non-executive), while Hani Mohamed Lehji is the new secretary of the board. The appointments were made at the company’s Ordinary General Assembly Meeting on 17 December 2023.

Transcargo International (TCI), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, has signed an agreement with Sinai White Portland Cement to build and operate the first bulk cement silo terminal at Arish port in North Sinai, Egypt, to boost exports.
