Peru's cement market contracted by 46.8 per cent YoY to 0.488Mt in March 2020, according to the Peruvian cement association, Asocem. Of this total national dispatches accounted for 0.481Mt. National cement demand in Peru advanced 5.3 per cent in February 2020 to 0.935Mt when compared with February 2019, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Peru’s cement market expanded 2.1 per cent YoY to 946,000t in January 2020 from 927,000 in the year-ago period, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Peru-based Cementos Pacasmayo reported a 7.7 per cent rise in sales volumes of cement, concrete and precast in the 4Q19 due to higher sales to the public sector, El Niño reconstruction, some medium-size private projects as well as self-construction. The Peruvian cement market expanded 2.1 per cent YoY in November 2019 with total sales of 1.048Mt (November 2019: 1.026Mt), according to Peru’s cement association, Asocem.
