Vietnam Feb cement output rises 35.3% YoY

Vietnam produced 3.8Mt of cement in February, down 9.5 per cent from January but an increase of 35.3 per cent YoY, according to the latest data from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem) saw output in January fall to 1.44Mt, a 9.4 per cent decline from December 2013 and 19.5 per cent reduction YoY. Of the total, 986,000t of cement and clinker were sold in the domestic market, down 28.8 per cent MoM and 40.2 per cent YoY, while 456,000t were exported, up 120.3 per cent MoM and 219 per cent YoY, respectively. Venezuela plans to reduce imports of Peruvian and Brazilian cement

Venezuela’s President Evo Morales announced the intention to reduce the import of cement from Peru and Brazil by installing new plants and increasing domestic output. “I want us to expand the industry and reduce imports, but sometimes emergencies have necessitated imports. Russia: Lipetskcement output continues upward trend

Lipetskcement, part of Eurocement group, has continued its steady growth trend with clinker and cement output up by 46 and 13.7 per cent YoY, respectively in January 2014. In the first month of the year the company produced 105,500t of clinker and 37,500t of cement. Production of CEM II A/S and 32.5N and CEM I 32.5N increased by 28.5 per cent and 16 per cent, respectively. Bagged cement production rose by 40.3 per cent.

Eurocement deliveries advance 5% in 2013

Eurocement, the largest building materials group in Russia and the CIS states, reported a five per cent YoY increase in cement deliveries last year, exceeding 2012’s level by 1Mt. Iran cement output reaches 58.26Mt in first 10 months

Iran produced 58.26Mt of cement in the first 10 months of the Iranian calendar while clinker output totaled 60.64Mt, according to Abdolreza Sheikhan, Secretary of Iran's Cement Industry Employers association.  In the Iranian month of Dey (22 December 2013 – 19 January 2014), the country produced 3.97Mt of cement. Clinker production rose to 5.8Mt during the month, an 11.6 per cent YoY increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

Vietnam export sales hit new high

Ministry of Construction (MoC), said cement output in 2013 hit 70Mt while sales rose 14 per cent YoY to 61Mt. Cement exports reached a record high of more than 14Mt during the year as producers turn to overseas sales amid fierce competition in an overcrowded domestic market. Polish January output and sales jump

Poland's cement production totalled 521,100t in January 2014, up by 34.4 per cent YoY, according to data from the country's cement producers association, SPC. Cement sales jumped to 553,300t, marking an increase of 35.7 per cent YoY. For the 12 months to December 2013, cement output declined by 7.5 per cent to 14.45Mt, while sales dropped by 7.6 per cent to 14.62Mt.
