Poland sees double-digit declines, Jan-Aug

Cement production and sales in Poland have seen a double-digit drop in the first eight months of the year, latest data from the country’s cement association, SPC, shows. Between January-August 2013, cement output declined by 15.2 per cent to 9.092Mt while sales were down by 14.8 per cent to 9.295Mt. In August alone, production in Poland fell by 1.9 per cent YoY in August 2013 to 1.576Mt. Sales for the month declined by 3.9 per cent to 1.616Mt.

Cement output in the first five months of the current calendar year (started on 21 March 2013) continued its upward climb to reach 31.475Mt, information from Iran’s Cement Producers Association showed. Cement production in Armenia rose by 6.2 per cent in the first seven months of the year, according to the latest data from the country’s national statistics service. The government of Mozambique plans to implement a supervisory system to ensure the time and sufficient supply of cement into the market. Monthly cement production rises 6.2%, Colombia

Colombia produced 966,800t of cement in July 2013, up 6.2 per cent YoY, according to the latest data from national statistics office Dane. In terms of dispatches, a 11.5 per cent rise to 980,500t was reported as construction companies increased  orders by 19.7 per cent and ready-mix concrete firms by 18.5 per cent. Vietnam cement production in August climbed to 4.9Mt, an 8.32 per cent increase compared to the same period of last year, the General Statistics Office has said. Substantial rises in Russian cement production and consumption have been achieved in 1H13. SMPro analysts state that Russian cement producers achieved an output of 7.1Mt of cement in June, the highest monthly production in 2013.
