Officials said that a new cement company will be launched soon with headquarters northeast of Taif, Arab News reported. The United Cement Company, with an initial capital of $320,000, has signed a $230m contract with a Chinese engineering company, Sinoma Engineering, for the infrastructure construction and machinery installation of the cement plant with a capacity to manufacture 5,000 tons daily. Gebr. Pfeiffer AG, together with KHD, Cologne, and ABB, Baden/ Switzerland, recently won a contract from Holcim (Romania) S.A. to supply a complete grinding plant for 380tph of cement raw material. FLSmidth & Co A/S reports that it has secured a Euro 43m contract from Sinai Cement Company in Egypt.  The contract covers the delivery of equipment for a new cement production line at Sinai Cement Company’s plant on the Sinai Peninsula.
