Total Vietnamese cement sales reached 8.196Mt in September 2019, up two per cent YoY and one per cent MoM, according to the latest data by the Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA). Iran faces higher transportation costs for exports to Iraq

Cement consumption in Indonesia remained largely stable at 6,728,921t in September 2019 when compared with September 2018, according to the latest data by the country’s cement association, ASI. Ireland-based Re-Gen Waste has invested GBP5m to develop its alternative fuel production facility at Carnbane industrial estate, Newry. The expanded facility is expected to reach full production by next month. Cement consumption in Spain has increased 2.6 per cent YoY to 1,162,861t in September 2019, according to Oficemen, the Spanish cement association. Tajikistan produces 3.1Mt of cement in the 9M19

In January-September 2019, Tajikistan produced construction materials worth TJS2bn (US$207m), an increase of TJS257.5m compared to the 9M18, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan. During the first nine months of the year, the country produced 3.1Mt of cement. Cement exports during the period reached 1.2Mt, representing a value of US$51.4m. This includes 725,600t to Uzbekistan, 427,400t to Afghanistan and 58,500t to Kyrgyzstan.

Peru’s cement consumption increased 6.5 per cent to 1.035Mt in September 2019 when compared with September 2018, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. A company statement for Al Jouf Cement of Saudi Arabia stated that the company has received its renewed cement export licence as well as a new clinker export licence on 15 october 2019. Both licences are active immediately. Al Jouf Cement received its first cement export licence in February 2017.
