Vietnam's Building Material Department, under the Ministry of Construction, reports that cement producers in the country sold 38.7Mt of cement and clinker in the first half of this year, rising 12.4 per cent from a year earlier. Vietnamese cement producer Tan Thang Cement have awarded FLSmidth a contract for the supply of main equipment to a greenfield plant in the country. The Engineering and Procurement contract is valued at approximately DKK255m (US$37.9m). The new 5000tpd plant will be located in the Nghe An province, 300km south of Hanoi. The scope of supply includes all the main equipment, from raw mill grinding to clinker silo, as well as civil design, coal mill installation, training and commissioning.

Vietnam earned US$260.64m from exporting 7.12Mt of cement and clinker in the first five months of this year, down 0.7 per cent on-year in value and 15.7 per cent in volume.
