Tajikistan recorded a nine per cent increase in cement production to 482,000t in the first two months of 2019. Exports from the country reached 182,000t in the same period, according to a report by Asia-Plus, however, an annual comparison was not stated. An estimated 5Mta of cement capacity is now operational in the country, with Huaxin Gayur Cement, Chzhungtsai Mohir Cement and Huaxin Gayur Sughd Cement accounting for approximately 80 per cent of the overall volume of cement output.

National cement consumption in Peru slipped by 4.9 per cent in February 2019 to 0.893Mt, down from 0.9Mt reported in February 2018, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Cement demand in Argentina remained largely stable YoY at 921,112t in February 2019, but fell 5.4 per cent MoM, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP.
