Paraguay’s INC sets 70,000bags/day output target

Paraguay-based Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC) reported that the production of cement at its Vallemí plant is normalising at nearly 50,000 bags/day. The state-owned cement producer currently has a production target of 70,000 bags/day. Senegalese cement output up 9% in December 2020

The production of cement in Senegal has advanced 8.9 per cent MoM in December 2020. However, domestic cement sales have slipped by 0.1 per cent  while exports were down 9.2 per cent MoM, according to the national statistics and demographic agency, ANSD. When compared with the year-ago period, production edged up 0.9 per cent, while local sales remained stable and exports contracted by 17 per cent.

Peru’s cement dispatches advance 14% in February

Cement dispatches in Peru increased 14 per cent YoY to 1.039Mt in February 2021 from 0.91Mt in February 2020, marking the sixth-consecutive monthly rise, according to the country’s cement producers’ association, Asocem. Sri Lankan cement production advances 16% in January

Sri Lanka’s cement output continues to grow following 15.9 per cent YoY growth to 3.93Mt in 2020. In January 2021, the island’s cement manufacturers produced 364,790t of cement, up 15.5 per cent when compared with January 2020. The rise in domestic production and import controls imposed after the first COVID-19 wave in the country have led to a reduction in imports, which fell by 31.2 per cent YoY to 3.25Mt in 2020.

Bolivia’s cement market contracts 4% in December

Bolivian cement demand saw a four per cent YoY and a 4.3 per cent MoM drop to 328,064t in December 2020. In December 2019 consumption reached 341,861t while in November 2020 it reached 342,743t,  according to Bolivia’s national statistics institute, INE. Domestic cement production declined to 322,876t in December 2020 from 372,217t in December 2019 and from 361,363t in November 2020.

Argentina’s cement market expanded by 18.2 per cent YoY but contracted 9.3 per cent MoM to 686,602t in February 2021, according to the country's cement association, AFCP.
